Spring Symphony: In the Sign of Tones and Stories
Karviná Municipal House of Culture

Májovák invites all music lovers to the Spring Symphony concert – In the Sign of Tones and Stories, which will resound in the large hall of the Municipal House of Culture on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 4 p.m.

The program will offer a colorful palette of emotions, colors, and musical worlds – from a festive opening to Moravian melodies to film drama and American musical spirit.

The evening will open with the majestic Ceremonial March by Belgian composer Jan van der Roost, followed by the lyrical and audience-favorite Moravian Suite by Pavel Staněk. The symphonic poem Dunkirk by Spanish composer José Alberto Pina will draw listeners into the tension of wartime events. Japanese composer Toshio Mashima brings delicacy, lightness, and virtuosity to his work Birds, and the concert will conclude with the energetic Suite from Leonard Bernstein's opera Candide.

Saxophonist Lukáš Kolek will perform the solo part, the orchestra will be conducted by chief conductor Filip Urban, and Daniela Walová will host the evening.
