Chorales rang through the sloping church
Church of St. Peter from Alkantara, Karviná

We commemorated this year's Czech Statehood Day and the celebration of St. Wenceslas Day with a festive St. Wenceslas concert. In the famous slanted church in Karviná we heard works by Richard Wagner (Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral), Thomas Doss (Of Castles and Legends), Otto M. Schwarz (In Nomine), Alfred Reed (Alleluia! Laudamus Te), of course the St. Wenceslas Chorale and other works. The completely filled church applauded the performance of the orchestra, which was led by its conductor Filip Urban. During the concert there was also an official farewell to our former conductor Ondřej Packan, who had to stop his work in Májovák due to work reasons.

The concert was supported by the Statutory City of Karviná, the OKD Foundation and the Roman Catholic Parish of Karviná.
